A very large way to find a very small tent
For the first Channel 4 series, Noel and Sandi made an entrance by hot-air balloon, then had the small practical problem of locating the tent. The joke is the lovely collision between a huge arrival and a deliberately ordinary welcome.

Back to the Future, before the tweet
Dressed as Doc Brown and Marty McFly, the hosts turned Prue Leith’s real-world early winner tweet into a time-travel mission. It is continuity turned into a propulsive little adventure—without needing to repeat the original mistake.

There’s no place like the tent
The premiere opened as a Wizard of Oz-style miniature, with Noel as Dorothy, Sandi as the Scarecrow and Paul in a tinny role. A deadpan exchange about Paul’s heart gave the fantasy its baking-shaped route home.

Batter, but make it a chorus
Mel and Sue treated Batter Week like a tiny musical: a bat-themed sketch, a ditty for the remaining bakers, and enough batter/battery wordplay to make frying feel like an action sequence. A last hurrah with excellent splatter potential.

Welcome to the baking family
Alison’s arrival got the full family-business treatment in The Breadfather: Paul became the Don, Noel joined the doughy family, and Alison was enthusiastically inducted. The episode also paid off the missing-raspberry running joke with a prop-sized callback.

A pink, slightly overcommitted land
Bake Off Land arrived in a Barbie-colored cloud: Alison and Noel sparred over the title, Paul played Ken, and Prue committed to Weird Barbie. A candy-bright fantasy that eventually has to make room for an actual cake.

A handshake from the Jurassic age
Jurassic Bake sent Prue, Alison and Noel into a dinosaur-movie setup, complete with a Tyranno-Paul-us Rex and a Paul-shaped reveal. The central baking joke: tiny dinosaur arms are not built for a Hollywood Handshake.
