Sumayah Kazi entered series 15 as a self-taught baker on a gap year before studying dentistry. Her meticulous research, sewing and photography all fed an imaginative style that blends techniques and cultures, from the one-metre macaron tower she made for her aunt’s mehndi celebration to her harvest-cake Showstopper.
Sumayah Kazi baked on 15 (2024) of The Great British Bake Off. One Hollywood handshake is on file: Autumn Leaves harvest cake, Showstopper (6 / Autumn). One of those moments came on a Showstopper.
She finished sixth and earned the sixth documented Showstopper handshake.
